Digital Cluster 2018-2021

The newly established School Excellence Fund encourages collaboration in the use of digital technology, STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths)

We are delighted to announce that our cluster proposal was successful. This will be a three year project. This Project will evaluate worthwhile teaching resources and methodologies and - working with industry and educational partners - form a primary schools’ curriculum based on best resources and best practices. We will concentrate on four main areas; computer literacy, coding, graphic design and digital storytelling using film, VR and AR.

It promises to be a very exciting initiative allowing our schools and teachers the opportunity to work together, share good practice while focusing on developing the important skills our children will need to thrive in the future.

We are excited to be one of 265 schools at Primary/Post Primary nationally to have been selected.
Our schools were represented in UCD at the launch by Minister for Education Richard Bruton of the Schools Excellence Fund (Digital).

Schools involved are:

1. Scoil Naomh Colmcille, Durrow, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
2. St. Francis Boys School, Clara, Co. Offaly
3. Scoil Bhride, Clara, Co. Offaly
4. Scoil Naisiunta Peadar & Pól, Horseleap, Moate, Co. Westmeath
5. Scoil an Chlochair, Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath
6. Cornamaddy National School, Cornamaddy, Athlone.
